Hi! My name is Lemeeka! I know, I know-I look very much like Tinkerbell. But I’m no Tinkerer. If any of my wardrobe malfunctions, I just buy a new one. I don’t bother messing around with thimbles, thread, needles, glue, tacks, hammers, or any other fix-it gadgets. Rather, I just enjoy shopping for new while ditching the old. It’s amazing how much we throw away in one lifetime! Even me, as a doll, was a discarded item. We are so replaceable that it makes me feel small and insignificant. If I’m not at my job or quit, I’ll just get replaced. We simply throw away the plates and plasticware after having visited the fast-food restaurants. I’m beginning to wonder whether all intelligence is artificial. I say this because everyone seems so entranced and hypnotized by our cell phones, computers, and television. These technological items have us all brain-washed into thinking we don’t matter unless we buy a certain product or believe some political view. Really, there are myriads of ‘correct’ ways to live a decent life. When other people attempt directing your very life and existence, it’s no wonder you get agitated, irritated, and resentful. It’s meant to be a unique, personal journey, but others somehow get intrigued and can’t help but try to become involved with your life. They can’t help it. It’s how they show their love, but to us, it seems like static, interference, and disruption. They don’t mean to be ‘space invaders’ but sometimes they are. Perhaps there are times to collaborate and other times to just withdraw and be alone. We truly can and should exist for the mere enjoyment of the dance of life itself. If we trip, we make it part of the dance. If our shoes are taken, we still dance. We get creative with it too! Sometimes it’s an artful ballet, a head spinning rap, a tap dance, etc. Sometimes sand is added to the floor and sometimes the
dance takes place on an ice floor. But no matter…we are dancing for ourselves mostly because to dance for others places our egos in a position of criticism, sarcasm, and analytical annihilation. Living is the same way. It needs to stem out of our spirit of free will. We have to actually want to do it for the sake of doing it and not for the rewards of money or platitude. Our only emotional reward should be gratitude for another day we are granted to do as we wish whether it involves others or not. After all, we are people too and it’s okay to be selfish once in a while and rent a movie all to ourselves to enjoy in our own privacy, dance alone, drink alone, or do any activity under the sun alone. Because really…we are never alone! Please share in my vision for making this world a better place for yourself as well as for others. It’s really a shared existence whether we like it or not!
Mahalo! (Thank You!)
