Eugene

Mask

Jim Carrey

I’m mimicking the movie ‘To Wong Foo
Except someone else is my Julie Newmar
And yes, I thank him for everything
There’s so much energy all around
Even as I’m lost, I’m found
Most importantly, am following my heart
That’s pierced my brain like a dart
Who knew his agent could be so kind?
Deflating my ego to see when I’m blind?
Suddenly, my headache fades away
And I can get on with my day
So, my brother, Eugene, laughs from the sky
Didn’t meet him either, but there’s still a tie
These pieces of paper will accumulate
For it is my will and my fate
The other mail and red tape collected too
But I’m ready to chuck them as they make me blue
Perhaps the pen is mightier than the sword
Whoever said ‘words can never hurt’ must have been bored
So, I guess it can’t hurt to say ‘I love you’
As for needing you and wanting you – uh huh
The ‘you’ could mean all who read this poem
But I’ll just meditate as I chant ’Ohm’
Ha! Just discovered it to be a nightclub in Hollywood
As well as a measurement of electrical resistance
You see? My thirst for knowledge has persistence
And I’ll quench it by staying consistent
Which is just the cousin of Constance
…derived from the Latin constans (standing together, constancy)
(We’ll be together constantly)

About bognetta

Love has been so much more powerful than other people's control. I think it's all love, but sometimes it doesn't feel like love. That is because so many people are defensive, protective, and do not care to trust in that four letter word...love!
