AWAKEN

AWAKEN

AWAKEN
Now that everyone can do everything
Can you hear the freedom ring?
It’s loud and clear as a bell
Yet congested, it’s a kind of hell
Competition for jobs
Competition to drive
But we haven’t lost it
It keeps us alive
Over and over it’s repetitive
Gaining momentum – a pendulum
Yes, back & forth from home to work
Tense with the leisure for what it’s worth
Only as it falls or is taken
Do our eyes open – awaken
Then we see we’re a colony
Built up on nothing but hypocrisy
The red kettle drums we know so well
Serve us up daily their product sells
Men all dressed up in uniform
To intimidate, protect…the storm
They hand us our necessities
And wake us up out of our dreams
Taking down names and writing reports
This kind of lifestyle may have to abort
They try and try with unpleasant tactics
To shake us from calm to make hectic
Yet no problem really does exist
Even so, they’d like us to resist
Feeding us, they provide PBj’s
Sandwiches to stick in our PJ’s
Or send us to work with bologna
Of which we withstand to earn money
Awaken, Awaken, dull senses
To this nonsense they call lessons
As if we are not part of…CHRIST!
It’s no wonder we’re moody with FEIST!
Ready to fight invisible windmills
With nothing but a parasol
Make up a line of our own?
Our minds have already been blown!

About bognetta

Love has been so much more powerful than other people's control. I think it's all love, but sometimes it doesn't feel like love. That is because so many people are defensive, protective, and do not care to trust in that four letter word...love!
