Bluff

Bluff

Bluff
I met a crazy conversationalist
Who was recording it all in a list
Perhaps of the small talk that day
She always knew what she could say
Encouragement which to invite
And share with me gossip delight
But I guess that’s what we must do
For you to see I and I to see you
Sure we say ‘Don’t sweat the small stuff’
Yet we stick them in a sauna to show them we’re tough
Still, what on earth else could we discuss?
If we did not constantly fuss
‘Bout who looks best or did the ‘right’ thing
Always searching for what life will bring!
So we could quietly go on our way
Just knowing that all is okay
But there’s always some special surprises
As we constantly peer out our eyes’
It just can’t be boring and bland
So we constantly sift through the sand
And pour salt into wounds so to heal
Since through them sensations appeal
If it hurts them and makes them so strong
How can they feel like they belong?
It’s a two-sided coin and a double-edged sword
Sometimes it’s unfair who gets an award
Therefore I enjoy the genuinely interested
Who invest of their time with discipline
We all drift apart and come together
And love knows it’s birds of a feather
Who fly above all unwanted circumstance
Because all she wants to do is dance
Dance and live and sing along
Of how we all could get along
Even though we point to another’s place
In this silly hierarchy of the human race
We like what we have yet it isn’t enough
We have to call the other’s bluff
A bird on high, Rockin’ Robin, keeping track of
To wonder whether it’s all worth it…BLUE
Is staving what we’ve given birth to
So socializing stamina is king
Yet a sharp tongue only makes it sting

About bognetta

Love has been so much more powerful than other people's control. I think it's all love, but sometimes it doesn't feel like love. That is because so many people are defensive, protective, and do not care to trust in that four letter word...love!
