Wire We Here?
Wire we here? Why are we here?
Just a bunch of boys & girls
Playing with toys & getting tattoos
Piercing ourselves for self-identity
As if God don’t know us
A sense of dignity
Dignity and pride to just be
This world offers no privacy
Love is such a dichotomy
Despite their demands
And paving the way for which she stands
This country is rich beyond compare
Each one of us could drive a Bel Air
But is that really wise?
Does anybody care?
To spend money coming out our eyes?
This is how I improvise
How much congestion?
Should I even mention?
And what of the house & picket fence?
To store all our junk – how dense!
So our assets become liabilities
Since we guard and maintain them
And our luxuries become a pile
As we sit around watching Gomer (Pyle)
Others are not pleased with all material
The novelty wears off as we eat cereal
If we imagine life as a long vacation
Maybe we would have no stagnation
How do we want to build our nation?
