Phoenix

Phoenix

Phoenix

So many have said its false hope
To hang onto what went up in smoke
There’s nothing left there in the ashes
My memory backwards, it flashes

But I see a brand new construction
In place of what happened – destruction
We’re building it up in our minds
That’s why we are clinging like vines

The wrecking ball, true it had smashed
The dreams and the hopes of the past
But still I see him in my slumber
And he is out gathering lumber

He builds us a place made of clay
And reassures me that he’ll stay
So warm in the chambers within
Forgiving most all of my sin

The phoenix rose up from the ashes
Since we had survived all the lashes
From the stigma of others, no doubt
But having each other is what it’s about

About bognetta

Love has been so much more powerful than other people's control. I think it's all love, but sometimes it doesn't feel like love. That is because so many people are defensive, protective, and do not care to trust in that four letter word...love!
