The White Rose

The White Rose

The White Rose
The white rose given so lovely and pure
Was to let us move on and simply endure
Because in the past someone shut out the light
I wandered about aimlessly throughout the night
I did not know when, I did not know how
But I found my own light…anyhow
It burned ever brightly so I could then write
My thoughts and my notions and get out my fight
You meant not to harm me, you meant not to spurn
You claimed light was dimmed so that I could turn
I turned and I tossed and it made me quite cross
I had to find way to get message across
But then I had left it to sit in a pile
And go about my life running distance-the mile
I found security with a doting young man
Who wanted my child – He said that he can
Yet years later, I did not like how darkness felt
So I brought you my white flag – surrendering doubt
Finally my break through to let it all go
And let my love melt accumulation of snow
The white rose was also tinged with some pink
It’s ode to you who taught me to think
And a reminder too my love doesn’t stink
Perhaps you are not such a yellow-bellied dink!

About bognetta

Love has been so much more powerful than other people's control. I think it's all love, but sometimes it doesn't feel like love. That is because so many people are defensive, protective, and do not care to trust in that four letter word...love!
