The winter days are cold as ice
And even colder if people aren’t nice
The icicles grow with thier empty stares
So I stay warm inside recanting prayers
Sure the first snowfall is ever lovely
But the month of January gets pretty ugly
Money is tight – we get cabin fever
The temperature rises for us to leave her
Off to go elsewhere to break free
And not live our lives in misery
Maybe we’re hunting or skiing
Or driving to meet another being
It beats being cooped up inside a house
With significant other thinking you as louse
A simple escape to the store
Can bring you back up from the morgue
Oh, and the children drive us crazy
Playing video games – watching movies – LAZY!
Yeah, we could bake cookies of chocolate chip
But let’s face it, we’d rather jump ship!
Not to complain about everyday life
But getting outside banishes strife
We need to get away from our husband or wife
Just to prove to ourselves there is more to this life!
