If you let something go and it’s yours to keep
When it comes back and lands at your feet
What do you do with that emotion?
Are you elated with the notion?
Love can lift you to seventh heaven
Especially when you add the leaven
But don’t put it on high pedestal too long
Or it may taste sour to tongue
If you’re the apple of somebody’s eye
And when you can see them, you fly
Where on earth are you going to?
The landing can give such a blow!
When you wear your heart on your sleeve
It’s like a big booger after you sneeze
For everyone can see snot hangin’ there
It looks like the Devil’s Lair
Should there be quiet before a storm
There should be a fearful warn
Because something’s destructive at work
And mischief is brewing, it lurks
Yet, if you stay tough through high waves
Then gravity sweeps you away
To the shore so peaceful and serene
It feels more like you had a dream
But I guess you can trust that ‘ol love
Since it came back like rain from above
It may put a damper on plans
But flame did not die as she fans
