Chagrin

Chagrin

Chagrin

I’m belittling him again
But it’s playful fun to win
His love for me can begin
But nothing physical (chagrin)
He takes himself so seriously
But oh it causes him such misery
And I love him so shamelessly
Pressing on so helplessly
I’ll not create expectation
Nor spark imagination
For he has it within himself
As he puts my love on a shelf
Maybe the label says “POISON”
Maybe the label says “HONEY”
Whatever it reads
I think it’s pretty funny!
Am I getting my hopes up once more?
Or maybe it can become folklore
That a love so deep, yet shallow, could exist
And his kiss remains on my list

About bognetta

Love has been so much more powerful than other people's control. I think it's all love, but sometimes it doesn't feel like love. That is because so many people are defensive, protective, and do not care to trust in that four letter word...love!
