Fire or Stream
Cute, serious, thoughtful, and planning
A sincere smile? What is admired?
Curious to a deadly fault
Then, all of a sudden, a halt!
Cut short not to inquire
No oxygen – Water on fire
What can be done for warmth?
What dry fuel could we find spark?
Love, sweet love, what is it?
If kept to myself, I will burn
Sharing is what I now yearn
Whoever comes along shares my joy
Does one need a fire or is this just desire?
Maybe we could all live in water
Swimming along as cool cucumber
Yet where would be our comfort?
Swimming along with the currant?
What happens if we try to swim upstream?
Sometimes no results, it’s only a dream
So what of the fate of fire or stream?
Perhaps we just mix them
And always get steamed!
