Yellow Ribbon

Yellow Ribbon

Yellow Ribbon

Give you a little leeway and you’d take a mile
Look at you, SMUG – get rid of that smile
Don’t want you to take for granted
Kindness – I may have planted

What I want for you to see
Is to be thankful for the tree
It brings forth fruit to eat in summer
It loses leaves that you encumber

It may even give you warmth
From chopped up wood that’s for your hearth
And in the winter’s cold, dark slump
There’s place to sit upon a stump

True that love could never die
So bright of yellow with I tie
It’s a ribbon ‘round your tree
For you to always think of me

About bognetta

Love has been so much more powerful than other people's control. I think it's all love, but sometimes it doesn't feel like love. That is because so many people are defensive, protective, and do not care to trust in that four letter word...love!
