Here’s My Reason
The crazy daze of summer’s gone
Hello winter! Won’t be long!
Scraping ice from our windshield
What’s the fruit? What does it yield?
Trudging thru the ice and snow
Trying to keep from chill of blow
Can’t be bitter in the winter
So look for wood to splinter
That-a-way you won’t get bored
Chop it up for dormant store
Maybe you could even shape
A chunk of wood for under cape
And underneath, a masterwork
To show it off, and this way shirk
The long, cold winter’s long-born days
Before we hit another phase
Crazy daze last after all
How can I tell? Well it is fall
And on spurts my imagination
Lasting season’s celebration!
Dull and lonely is the white season?
I don’t think so, here’s my reason!
