Ten Score and Ten
Such a rare find you are
One extraordinary, by far!
But that is how you tried to be
Always being there for me
Now we go our separate ways
And that is simply quite okay
Some days I hate to think of past
When this is love meant not to last
Gladly lending much support
How would I know you’d abort?
But then it’s easier than I thought
To turn away from what I wrought
Frustrated, angry you were at what?
A romantic notion? How could you cut?
You must not be human, you must be unsure
If this is a love that could never endure
This may not be prim and proper
But then there’s no way you could stop her
She, who is me, would want you to know
That she’s not someone you’d abandon in snow
Oh no…we know it’s not our time
And why we met…all for rhyme?
So here it is, I write again
To add to pages ten score and ten!
