Wise Acre

Wise Acre

Wise Acre

Just do as I say, but not as I do
Sugar is sweet and I am sweet too
I wanted to dance, a slow one, a waltz
But you pointed out most all of my faults

The power you hold on the knowledge within
Can not set you free ‘cuz you want discipline
I wanted to bring you right out of your den
But bears can not dance like most gentlemen

You can not walk on both sides of the street
Like strangers we met, but for now we don’t meet
Once did I cherish that wise acre man
Like a train up a hill, ‘think I can, think I can’

I won’t pierce my nose or get a tattoo
More confidence than that since the day I met you
Secure with my talent, I write you up
This is my report, I need only one cup

Yet, like an angel, you did walk with me
Just for a while, and there was no damn fee
It dawned on me that our time would run out
Prepared I was not, that is what it’s about

On I have gone…so far away too
With me is the Lamb who resembles you
He’s not quite as harsh ‘cuz I am his bride
He’s so slow to anger, in Him I confide

About bognetta

Love has been so much more powerful than other people's control. I think it's all love, but sometimes it doesn't feel like love. That is because so many people are defensive, protective, and do not care to trust in that four letter word...love!
