Willy nilly, Lord, it’s chilly!
Cold and wet and dark and damp
What am I doing in this camp?
Only canvas tucks me in
Dry to the bone, or at least my skin
What’s a poor girl to do?
Except utter words, “A ‘choo! A’choo!”
Time to dig out something to eat
It’s just too bad I can’t cook meat
Dry fire wood could not be had
And tasties can’t be kept from bad
Guess I’ll have to have me a snack
Let’s find out what’s in my pack
Granola and raisins – oh so bland
It’ll have to make do to feed my gland
I didn’t pack a toothbrush either
What I wouldn’t do just to have a heater!
Guess I’ll have to brush with my finger
This whole trip has been a real hum-dinger!
All my socks are stinkin’ like hell
Good thing my folks don’t know of the smell!
Dressing up in this tiny tee pee
Reminds me of the costs to be free
Tomorrow night, this trip’s all done
It will be my day in the sun!
Thank goodness it will come at last
The beauty of nature sure passes fast!
