When you feel bitter, think of yourself as a mop head,
And the hurtful situation as the hot, soapy mop water
You want to ‘mop the floor’ or ‘get on with your life’, right?
Well, you must realize that incessantly dunking yourself
In the mop water over and over again will never result in
Accomplishing your goal of mopping the floor (or getting on with life)
In order to ‘mop’, you must go through the painful ordeal of
Putting your head in the mop water
But then, you begin to wring out the hot water
Which is stinging your head so much
After that, you go back and forth with your thoughts,
Just as a mop would across a dirty floor,
And then your floor (or life) begins to look clean again
Once your life looks clean,
(keep in mind your head may take a few more dips in the wretched mop water),
You may finally dump the contents of mop water
Down the drain…to never look at it again
When it’s time to mop the floor again, you will start with fresh mop water
That means new circumstances will occur,
and you’ll need to work with them in the same manner, but the main thing to remember is that you can not keep dunking your head in the mop water.
Sooner or later, you’ll need to mop the floor
Also, you must never forget to empty the contents of mop water
Because if it sits too long, it will reek a horrible smell!
